SMS DISCLOSURE & OPT-IN
Bike Beacon texts only riders who ask for them.
How a rider subscribes
- The rider visits bikebeacon.app/connect and signs in with Google.
- The rider chooses a read-only Google Calendar signal and creates an e-bike reminder.
- The rider enters a mobile number on the Bike Beacon dashboard.
- The rider affirmatively checks the unchecked SMS consent box shown below and requests a verification code.
- Bike Beacon sends alerts only after the rider enters the one-time code and verifies ownership of that number.
Consent shown before verification
This is the same form presented to a signed-in rider. It is shown here publicly for transparency; subscription requires a Bike Beacon account and phone verification.
Consent is not a condition of purchase. Bike Beacon does not use purchased lists, pre-checked boxes, or third-party opt-ins.
Message content and frequency
Messages are informational e-bike availability alerts triggered by notification rules the rider creates. Frequency varies with the rider's matching calendar events and may be zero on many days.
